Cottonwood Community Church
The Blessings of Giving...
The Bible is clear that personal responsibility in finances is a reflection of overall integrity and faithfulness.
Cottonwood has never indulged in high-pressure pleas for money and never will. We do not follow the tradition of passing an offering plate during services. Members and attendees simply exercise responsibility and faithfulness in giving by depositing their tithes and offerings in the boxes at the back of the sanctuary.
Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. 11 Corinthians 9:6-8
Giving Opportunities
Tithing by Cash or Check:
You may deposit your tithes and offerings in the boxes at the back of the sanctuary or mail your gifts to: Cottonwood Community Church, 308 S. 5th Street, Grand Forks, ND 58201
"Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the Lord Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so many blessing that you will not have room enough for it." Malachi 3:10
The Bible states that the tithe is 10% of your income. At Cottonwood Community Church we believe God clearly instructs the 'whole' tithe be brought into the local 'storehouse' or church. The church in both the Old and New Testament was always a local church that ministered to the needs of its people. Offerings to local charities, persons, funds and missions including the listed Cottonwood designees are gifts above and beyond your tithe.
Designated offerings - giving above your tithe:
Becky Nelson - Support based staff
Current Mission Support - Costa Rica
Cottonwood Church Plant Fund
Bemidji, MN Leaders in Training Program
Great Commission Church Aid - Monterey Mexico
General Building Fund
Cottonwood's Benevolence Fund (personal and local needs)
Thank you for your consideration and generous support of our ministries here at Cottonwood Community Church.
